Keep your luxurious knits fresh and cozy

CashmereCareGuide

Ensure your cashmere garments remain luxurious and cozy for years to come with proper care. While professional dry cleaning is an option, it's just as simple to hand wash them at home. Follow these steps for gentle yet effective cleaning.

Step 1

Pre-wash Preparation

Gather your materials: gentle wool soap, a basin, and a clean towel. Fill the basin with lukewarm water—test with your elbow to ensure it's not too hot—and add a small amount of soap. Remember, cashmere requires delicate care, so avoid bleach at all costs.

Step 2

Gently Cleanse

Submerge your cashmere garments into the soapy water, gently massaging to work up a lather. Allow them to soak for about half an hour to loosen dirt and oils. After soaking, rinse the garments thoroughly in clean water and gently squeeze out excess moisture.

Step 3

Drying

Lay your cashmere flat on a clean, dry, white towel, reshaping them to their original form. Roll the towel, pressing gently to absorb water without stretching the fibers. Unroll and lay the garments flat to air dry completely.

Step 4

Proper Storage

Avoid stretching by refraining from hanging your cashmere. Instead, neatly fold them and store in breathable boxes or cotton storage bags. Keep them in a cool, dark, and dry area. As an added precaution against moths, include a few mothballs.

Step 5

Maintenance

To combat pilling, utilize a cashmere comb, sweater stone, or fine-tooth comb. Gently brush the surface to remove any fuzz or pills, maintaining the smooth texture of your cashmere garments.

With these careful steps, your cashmere pieces will maintain their luxurious feel and appearance, ready to envelop you in warmth and comfort whenever you wear them.
